Nigel Stone is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands. Nigel qualified as a New Zealand solicitor in 2004. He first moved from the UK to the Cayman Islands in 2015.
Nigel’s background is in civil, commercial and criminal litigation and dispute resolution. He has worked for various firms, including one of the largest law firms in the Cayman Islands and one of New Zealand’s largest law firms. In the Cayman Islands he worked on Ahmad Hamad Algosaibi & Brothers v Maan Al Sanea & Ors (also known as AHAB v Saad) where US$9.2B was in dispute. He has appeared as sole counsel for the Crown in more than 30 jury trials in New Zealand, and represented the Crown in various appeals. He is an accredited mediator.
Nigel has published several articles in scholarly peer-reviewed journals, and coedited the Cambridge Journal of International and Comparative Law.
